The studio has been designed to meet the requirements of a commercial broadcast sound stage. The studio walls were designed by acoustical engineers to minimize sound transmissions from the outside. All of the walls are covered with acoustic materials to minimize unwanted sound reflections.
The ambient background noise level is about 35 db. Special blackout drapes also eliminate unwanted blue or green reflections to improve the quality of compositing. The air conditioning system is acoustically insulated to reduce the background noise level.
The studio has two walls and a floor that can be converted from digital blue to digital green in about 1 hour. The studio has a usable height of 14 feet and is 32 feet wide and 22 feet deep. It is fully equipped with lighting, sound, multiple cameras, and a teleprompter. A motion control platform, for the cameras, can also take vertical ceiling to floor shots. It is equipped with motorized pan and tilt, in addition to travel in the x, y, and z-axes.
